Nutrition and dietetics practitioners are boldly leading the interdisciplinary team with the obligation to identify and reduce malnutrition. There will always be detractors who do not fully grasp the extent of the condition. Malnutrition care is not a quick fix; it's a planned and calculated evidence-based approach. It is RDNs who prioritize and address malnutrition by their comprehensive understanding of both the clinical patient workflow and system-level care pathway. The malnutrition condition has long been owned by RDNs, and they will continue their quest by utilizing all avenues: policy, regulatory, practice standards, competence, performance measurement, and service delivery.
Nutrition.
