As part of a comprehensive nutrition assessment, the registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) collects the patient/client's nutrition history. This may include information focusing on food access, typical meal patterns, nutrition knowledge, and food preparation ability. A thorough study published in 2013 demonstrated that all Americans, regardless of their socioeconomic status, are preparing foods at home less often than they have in the past.1 Sadly, numerous individuals abstain from preparing meals at home in light of the fact that they feel their cooking skills are inadequate or that eating healthfully is excessively expensive or that it's just too time-consuming.
