In 1973, our members and leaders had a brilliant idea: to develop a nutrition and information campaign focusing attention on the importance of making informed food choices, and developing sound eating and physical activity habits. National Nutrition Week was born—and its success among members and the public alike led to the celebration being expanded in 1980 to all of March: National Nutrition Month.
