Summary: The research aims to know if the home environment has an effect on the Self-directed Learning and Student Engagement of student nurses from Manila Tytana Colleges in the web-based arrangement. Since the research is a quantitative type of research, the researchers used a survey questionnaire given to 108 nursing students enrolled in Manila Tytana Colleges. Data are being analyzed and interpreted using frequency distribution, percentage, mean, T-test, Mann-Whitney U test, and Kruskal-Wallis H test. The results shows that nursing students recognize and experience the identified effects of home environment of noise, internet connectivity, and family dynamics. Regardless of students’ age, gender and year level the effects of home environment do not instigate weight on to the self-directed learning and student engagement. The result of this research can be used in conducting further studies on how the students manage to cope up and to have a better collaboration between the students, faculty, and institution to maximize different learning opportunities for self-directed learning and student engagement.
