Subject(s): Summary: Descriptive phenomenological research design was utilized to explore nursing students' perception of the essence of meaningful clinical practice experiences in nursing education. Purposive sampling was used to select the eight participants and prior informed consent was obtained including their parents'. Results showed the following: (a) the nursing students' perception of meaningful clinical nursing practice has the following thematic reflections: Application of concepts; Preparedness; Intangibles, (b) the nursing students' perception of a meaningful clinical nursing practice enabled them to achieve the following: Client-centered, Learner-centered and an Accompaniment-centered care, (c) how these lived experiences lead the nursing students in their clinical learning in nursing education spelled out deep thematic revelations in the following: Realization on self, Recognition of need; Retention of skills, and (d) the essence of the nursing students' perception of a meaningful clinical practice experiences reflected that Meaningful clinical practice experiences articulate the levels or domains of academic performance and All aspects of the meaningful clinical practice experience encompass development. Furthermore, this inquiry revealed that meaningful clinical practice experiences of nursing students' were influencing them in a positive dimension although some areas need to be addressed for development and attention by the appropriate office involved. Through this qualitative study, there are areas that can be addressed by nursing educators, colleges of nursing, curriculum planners in our pursuit to bridge the gaps in the Philippine Nursing Education.
