A study of 1,141 early-career RNs has shown that positive workplace factors such as good lighting, lack of crowding, and pleasing interior design have a meaningful impact on nurses' job satisfaction by facilitating efficiency teamwork, and interprofessional communication. Prior research has established that job satisfaction is an important predictor of RN turnover, patient satisfaction, and nurse-sensitive patient outcomes such as falls.
