October is especially important to me and, I hope, to all food and nutrition practitioners: It's National Farm to School Month. Designated by Congress in 2010, Farm to School Month celebrates "the connections happening all over the country between children and local food" and demonstrates " the growing importance of farm to school programs as a means to improve child nutrition, support local economies and educate children about the origins of food." Talk about a win-win situation; this is a win-win-win.
