However, evidence is accumulating to reveal that STRs are sources for various community disturbances and exacerbate the housing crisis, displacing the residents of tourism destinations. Based on in-depth interviews conducted in Hawaii, this study investigates the impacts of STRs and feasible ways to manage them from the residents’ perspectives, in the context of the sustainability of tourism.
