N2  - On June 9, 2015, the Office of Inspector General (OIG) of the Department of Health and Human Services issued a new Fraud Alert, focusing on the possible anti-kickback implications of certain compensation arrangements between physicians and health care providers, such as long term care facilities and hospitals. By way of brief background, federal law prohibits the offering, solicitation, payment or receipt of any remuneration in order to induce the referral of a patient whose care is payable under Medicare, Medicaid or other federal health insurance programs
